  • filter_dramaClass Description

This 8-hour continuation course takes students deeper into the discipline of vascular surgery with a series of advanced simulated procedures. Building on the precision and teamwork developed in Surgery 101 and Vascular Surgery I, students now face greater technical and collaborative challenges requiring finesse under pressure. Training begins with complex vessel repair and progresses through procedures such as aortic trauma repair, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, axillary-femoral-popliteal bypass, carotid endarterectomy, patch angioplasty, thrombectomy, and arterio-venous access creation. The course culminates with central venous catheter placement, including Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, with close attention to physiology and clinical application. Emphasis is placed on judgment, procedural sequencing, and adapting to complications in the surgical environment. By the conclusion, students will be equipped with the advanced technical skill and collaborative ability needed for high-stakes vascular surgery scenarios.
