Schedule: - Friday: 5:30–7:30 PM - Saturday: 3:00–5:00 PM This 12-hour course introduces students to the fundamentals of laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery using professional training modules. Students will develop the dexterity, coordination, and spatial awareness essential for modern minimally invasive procedures, learning to operate with precision in a video-assisted environment. Simulated procedures begin with cholecystectomy, cholecystostomy, appendectomy, and bowel repair, before advancing to more complex techniques such as laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair, fundoplication, and Heller myotomy. The course emphasizes fine motor control, teamwork, and problem-solving in a high-pressure surgical setting—and yes, skill in video games may give students an unexpected advantage!
