Vascular Surgery 101 - Summer 2026 (#1085)

This hands-on course builds on the foundations introduced in Surgery 101 and focuses on the vascular system.

Students learn advanced vessel-handling techniques beginning with the Carrel Vascular Anastomosis, a Nobel Prize–recognized method for connecting blood vessels.

Simulated procedures include:
- Repair of damaged blood vessels
- Bypass procedures
- Carotid artery surgery
- Thrombectomy
- Creation of arterio-venous access
- Central venous catheter placement

Students practice precision, coordination, and teamwork while developing a deeper understanding of vascular anatomy and surgical techniques.
