Design and build your own immersive 3D world.
In this hands-on class, students will learn how professional 3D environments are created for video games, animated movies, virtual production, and interactive media using Autodesk Maya (free educational version through accredited school), Blender , and Unreal Engine.
Students will begin by planning an environment and gathering visual references, then learn how to model buildings, rooms, landscapes, props, and other scene elements. They will add materials and textures, arrange objects with proper scale and composition, and use lighting, cameras, and atmosphere to create a convincing and visually engaging world.
Students will then bring their completed environments into Unreal Engine, where they can explore real-time rendering, cinematic camera movement, lighting, and presentation.
Topics include:
-Environment concept development and reference gathering
-3D modeling in Maya and Blender
-Creating buildings, interiors, landscapes, and props
-Scale, composition, and scene organization
-Materials and textures
-Lighting and atmosphere
-Cameras and cinematic presentation
-Environmental storytelling
-Preparing 3D assets for Unreal Engine
-Importing complete scenes into Unreal Engine
-Real-time rendering and scene presentation
-
By the end of the class, students will have created a complete 3D environment and gained practical experience with professional tools and techniques used to build the worlds seen in games, movies, animation, and virtual production.By registering you agree to PVNet’s terms & policies.
