Completion of this course earns a certificate for 3 units of elective credit. This certificate may be used to demonstrate academic enrichment and support school transcripts or applications.
Arduino Level 2 is designed for students who already understand the basics of Arduino programming, sensors, and simple electronic circuits and are ready to build more advanced robotic and engineering systems.
This hands-on course moves beyond basic projects and focuses on creating systems that combine multiple sensors, motors, and electronic components working together through more sophisticated programming.
Students will deepen their understanding of the Arduino IDE and programming concepts while learning how to design projects that respond to changing conditions, make decisions, and control physical devices more precisely.
Projects may include multi-sensor systems, motor control, servo mechanisms, obstacle detection, automated devices, data collection, and more advanced robotic applications.
Students will also gain experience troubleshooting circuits, improving code, organizing larger programs, and understanding how engineers combine hardware and software to create reliable working prototypes.
Topics may include:
- Working with multiple sensors and inputs
- Advanced motor and servo control
- Conditional logic and decision-making
- Functions, variables, and more structured Arduino programming
- Analog and digital signal processing
- Timing and event-based control
- Sensor calibration and data collection
- Troubleshooting circuits and debugging code
- Designing and building more complex robotic systems
- Integrating multiple hardware components into one project
Benefits:
- Build on existing Arduino and robotics experience
- Develop stronger programming and electronics skills
- Learn to design systems rather than simply follow instructions
- Gain practical troubleshooting and engineering experience
- Create more advanced projects for portfolios, science fairs, and future research
- Prepare for higher-level robotics, embedded systems, engineering, and programming courses
This course is ideal for students who have completed Arduino Level 1 or already have equivalent experience with basic Arduino programming, sensors, and electronic circuits.
