    UPDATE 2021-07-04 New meeting days and times: ======================= WED & THU 4:00PM - 6:00PM First class meeting will be Wed July 7 @ 4pm. ======================== The field of biotechnology uses biological systems to produce useful products or perform specialized tasks. Labs will be conducted in person and hands on. Basic pipetting, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), gene editing (CRISPR), and ELISA are just a few of the techniques included. The curriculum will be supplemented with topics from AP Biology and current events like the Covid-19 epidemic. the design and fabrication of custom scientific devices, bioamplifiers, and marine science. Biotech will provide a solid foundation for any biology class students may take in the future." This class is open to: ======================== 10th - 12th grade students Exceptions for younger age students considered upon request Excellent for college students & adults CLASS CREDIT ============= Students taking this course will receive a WASC accredited certificate for an elective course that is accepted by colleges. Colleges will add the grade for this course to the student's GPA, CLASS FEE ============= RESERVE YOUR SEAT: $400 deposit is applied to course fee and is non-refundable. TOTAL CLASS FEE: $2000 The balance is due on first day of class All selections and registrations are final and no changes may be made after registering.
