    3D Character Creation & Animation with Maya, Blender & Unreal Engine

    Create your own original 3D character and bring it to life.
    In this hands-on class, students will learn the complete process of designing, modeling, preparing, and animating a 3D character using Autodesk Maya (free educational version through accredited school), Blender, and Unreal Engine.
    Students will begin by developing a character concept, then learn how to build the character in 3D, add materials and textures, create a digital skeleton, rig and skin the model, and prepare it for movement. They will then explore basic character animation and learn how completed characters can be imported into Unreal Engine for real-time animation, cinematic scenes, and interactive projects.

    Topics include:
    -Character concept development
    -3D modeling in Maya and Blender
    -C-reating facial features, clothing, and accessories
    -Materials and textures
    -Skeleton creation
    -Character rigging
    -Skinning and weight painting
    -Basic keyframe animation
    -Introduction to facial tracking and motion capture
    -Importing and animating characters in Unreal Engine

    By the end of the class, students will have gained practical experience with professional tools and techniques used in the creation of characters for animated movies, video games, visual effects, virtual production, and interactive media.
