VEX Robotics for Beginners
Joining a robotics team for the first time can be overwhelming and confusing, so PVNet is offering a VEX V5 Intro for students who want to get started on their robotics journey! Students can prepare for joining a robotics team and be able to fully enjoy the experience while contributing to their team! No prior experience required!
The class will introduce four main areas:
- Building & Mechanical Basics — learn how VEX parts connect, how wheels, gears, shafts, and supports work, and how to assemble simple robot mechanisms- Coding for Robotics — learn basic programming concepts and use VEXCode to control motors, read sensors, and create simple robot movements.
- Electronics & Robot Control — learn how the VEX Brain, motors, controllers, and sensors connect and work together.
- Intro to CAD — get a basic introduction to Fusion 360 or Onshape and see how robot parts can be planned and assembled digitally.
