    This program permits students to register at any anytime and the fee will be reduced accordingly. We purposely made this program 6 months long so that Students may work at their own pace, and it doesn't matter if they miss a few meetings or if the start late.. This program is both a HS 10 unit elective course and a professional development internship suitable for all levels of college. Anyone who wants to pursue a career in the software industry in tech should join this class. Most software occupations require knowledge of several of the following: - Advanced data structures, advanced Java script, software . Knowledge about Unix operating system, Shell scripting, Server-side rendering, ExpressJS, NodeJS, Node Package Manager/NPM, Frontend frameworks like React, React Native, and Git Version Control. This professional-level course teaches students programming in Web App Architecture, the use of Unix commands, MYSQL database rendering, Version Control operation, Backend server maintenance, and mobile/web app development. We ask students to perform tasks in an industry-standard and professional setting. It is recommended students master these skills early so that they can prepare for college studies and industrial level work. REQUIRED MATERIALS: =================== - Students are required to have a fully functional laptop, Windows or MAC, with all current software and OS updates installed. - NO tablets. - Students must have a Zoom.com account (which is free) (https://zoom.us/) The AWS program runs from 2022-06-18 to: start of the interns fall semester 2 meeting each week, in person Saturday, : 15:00 - time: 18:00 A weekday: 2 hrs, day & time TBD based on best time for interns. Interns may come in during all open hours to meet, collaborate, etc. LAB HOURS: ============= 2-4 hours of lab time per week at PVNet. There will be independent lab work throughout the semester. ABSENCES: ======== Students work at their own pace therefore no makeups are required for missed meetings. CERTIFICATE OPTION AVAILABLE FOR THIS CLASS: ================================== Add $300 to course fee to receive WASC accredited high school certificate accepted by colleges and universities. UNITS: 10 (must attend 75% of meetings) UNITS: 5 (must attend 50% of meetings) Total in person hours: 60 hrs. Notice to students seeking to continue in this program in the fall: During regular school semesters, meetings are from 6:30-8:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
